Do I need to be an X-Road member?

Yes. To exchange data over X-Road, your organisation needs the right X-Road membership. securityserver.io guides you through registering your membership, security server and subsystems.

Is the security server really ready in minutes?

Creating the security server infrastructure is automated and usually takes a few minutes. To start exchanging data over X-Road, you also need to complete the registration and certification steps.

Do I need to configure the security server myself?

You do not need to install the security server or configure its infrastructure. securityserver.io prepares the security server and guides you through the steps to connect to X-Road.

Does the security server need regular maintenance?

Yes, but we take care of it. We manage the security server's software updates, backups and monitoring.

Can I start in a test environment?

Where is my security server located?

Production security servers are hosted in Estonia. Each organisation has its own security server and database.

Can I use one security server for several information systems?

No. securityserver.io is an independent X-Road security server hosting and management platform. In Estonia, the Estonian Information System Authority (RIA) runs the X-tee central services and the membership processes.
